After the September 11 attacks, Representative Golden enlisted in the United States Marine Corps where he served four years in the military as an infantryman, deploying to Afghanistan in 2004, and Iraq in 2005-2006. As a freshman member of Congress, he is committed to supporting veterans and seniors, tackling the opioid epidemic, creating jobs and strengthening the economy. Congressman Golden was appointed to the House Armed Services Committee.
