We are excited to announce that the Fall 2020 Up to Us team from Northwestern University was recently awarded Northwestern’s Wildcat Impact Award for winter 2021. Selected by the Student Recognition Committee within the Division of Student Affairs, the university’s Up to Us team, led by Amy Drake ‘22, is recognized for their campus competition campaign and their efforts outside of the classroom to build community at Northwestern and embody the university’s value of integrity.

Throughout the academic year, the Wildcat Impact Awards are given to students or student groups who have significantly contributed to improving the quality of life at Northwestern. Award recipients are chosen based on how they represent Northwestern values for integrity, innovation, social justice, responsible stewardship, and collaborative work with others, in order to create a more engaged and inclusive campus community.

During the fall 2020 semester, Northwestern’s Up to Us team exercised the highest ethical standards in day-to-day interactions and represented Northwestern well in relationships with the campus community and beyond. The team brought the national Up to Us movement to the university’s campus community by building a campaign dedicated to respectful civic dialogue.

Despite the challenges faced by most students during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Up to Us team was able to engage students from diverse backgrounds in nonpartisan dialogue about civic engagement and fiscal policy around the shared goal of creating a brighter future for all.

Congratulations to our Fall 2020 team from Northwestern University!
