UCF is so excited to be participating in the Up to Us competition this year! We have many exciting events in store for students on our campus to learn more about the federal debt and how it will affect our financial future.

We decided to enter this competition when our adviser introduced the email to us this fall. One of the main driving factors behind our participation was the level of homelessness and poverty in Orlando, one of the leading metropolitan areas in the US. We also became aware that students on our campus were not taking personal responsibility for their finances and engaging in research on the nation’s debt. Because of these issues, the UCF team joined together to bring financial literacy to our college campus! We are ecstatic to be working with so many esteemed students at universities all over the nation who have the same ideas of responsibility, financial sustainability, and social impact that we share. In meeting with the other team leaders at Net Impact this Fall, our team realized that competition aside, all twenty five teams are focused on the end result, creating awareness!

That is what Up to Us is all about. At UCF, our Millennial generation is a generation of entrepreneurs and people with new ideas and we are excited to introduce the campus to the financial crisis as well.
