2016-2017 Campus Competition

The 2016-2017 Up to Us Campus Competition is now closed but it’s not too late to get involved! Consider hosting an Up to Us event on your campus and gear up for next year’s competition. Learn more about hosting an event, here.

This year, we had teams from 75+ colleges and universities in 40 states across the country compete in our annual Campus Competition.

The campus competition, once again, kicked off with My Two Cents Day, a national day of awareness. During My Two Cents Day, participants hosted a range of engaging activities to educate fellow students on the long-term national debt while gathering signatures for a non-partisan pledge to take a stand for their fiscal futures and ask elected officials and presidential candidates for a plan.

Returning to campuses inspired and energized from trainings in Philadelphia, PA and Oakland, CA, participants then executed a “Wildcard Activity” focused on creating high-quality engagement on campus. Inspired by millennials’ drive to promote real change, the Up to Us competition focused on promoting solutions-oriented thinking and participants were provided with several suggestions for how to host solution-based events on their campuses. Students were also encouraged to come up with creative strategies tailored to their campus!
